Bank Holiday touring May 2026
Suggested arrival day either Friday 22nd or Saturday 23rd
Based in the beautiful Lancashire market town of Garstang we will have easy access to Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the wonderful Forest of Bowland.
Garstang has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and cafes. This picturesque town sits on The River Wyre and also has the Lancaster canal running right through its centre.
There will be one base so on our tour days there is no need to pack up your motorcycle. That also means it can be flexible, allowing for a 2, 3 or a 4 night stay.
The area offers lots of accommodation options. More choice can be added but initially the recomendation is for the following two places.
Premier Inn Preston North. Twin or doubles, flexible booking. This is in a fantastic location in the village of Bilsborrow. To book click here Premier Inn Preston North
Neighbouring the Premier Inn is a lovely canal side bed and breakfast Old Duncombe House. follow link to book.

The above choices have within a short walking distance 2 canal side pubs, Barton Grange and Flower Bowl which is an entertainment centre offering indoor golf, 10 pin bowling, ice curling and a luxurious cinema and more. There is also a regular bus service into Garstang and Lancaster which is a historic castled city.
Example rideouts:-
Lake District passes. Kendal, the gateway to the Lakes is just a 40 minutes ride. We'll head through Windermere and Ambleside towards Keswick. Derwent Water, Borrowdale and Honister pass before heading toward Eskdale and an opportunity for those that wish to do so to ride the Hardknott pass. In my opinion the most challenging and scenic road in Britain.
Yorkshire Dales would include Devil's Bridge, Dent, Hawes, Ribblehead viaduct, Kettlewell. Buttertubs pass, Tan Inn.
Forest of Bowland would encompass Jubilee Tower, Trough of Bowland, Dunsop Bridge, Slaidburn, Clitheroe and Pendle Hill.
A fourth day could be added
